A profile represents an outside entity with access to the Decisiv API.
Profiles are given access permissions for each resource available in API based on their needs as determined by professional services. Resource permissions are managed much like file access permissions with actions such as read, modify, delete. In addition, there may be more granular permissions associated with certain resources.
Profiles have a white-list of permitted content-types/accept-types that they are able to use when viewing and updating resources. This allows for a single profile to interact with the API from the perspective of multiple business roles.
Profiles are associated with a single business entity in the Decisiv Platform. In addition, a user is associated with the profile that represents the system and is used for logging interactions performed over the API.
Profiles are managed by professional services using a web UI.
